FAQ
- How do I start?
- Tap anywhere on the screen, or turn the phone face down. If you turned on the countdown in Edit, it starts after 3 seconds — after a tap, that's time to put the phone face down; if you started by turning it over, lifting it within those 3 seconds cancels.
- How do I pause?
- While it runs, press and hold anywhere. Tap again, or turn the paused phone face down, to carry on.
- How do I end early?
- Press and hold the flag at the top right. What you did so far is kept and the summary appears.
- What changes when the phone is face down?
- While it's waiting, turning it face down starts it. While it runs, the screen goes dark and time keeps running. When focus or a rest ends, the flashlight blinks along with the sound. Turn the phone back over to see the dial.
- I hear no sound.
- On iPhone, silent mode gives vibration only. On Android it follows your ringer mode, and the app's sound level is the media volume (press a volume key inside the app to change it). Also check that the volume isn't at zero and that Sound under ≡ at the top left is on.
- Do I need notifications?
- We recommend them. While the app is on screen it alerts you without them, but on iPhone the end-of-timer sound needs notifications once you leave the app or lock the phone.
- What is the grass?
- One square per day. It darkens with the time the dial ran in color (focus); rests don't count. At twice your daily goal a clover appears, at three times a flower.
- What is in Pro?
- A single purchase, no subscription. It includes shaping the set (how long rests are and how they follow), the 120-minute dial, Timehold (a 12-hour dial), choosing the voice, and Progress %. Voice and Progress % simply come on for your first run each day. The dial, automatic switching, face-down use and the grass stay free forever.
- Where is my history stored?
- On this device, and it never comes to us. With no account, the app can't move it to another device by itself, but it may come along if you use an iCloud or Google backup or move to a new phone. Deleting the app deletes it from the device — on Android, while a Google backup remains, reinstalling may bring it back. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- How do I change the language?
- It follows your phone. To change it for this app only: on iPhone, Settings › Apps › Daylily › Language (iOS 17: Settings › Daylily › Language); on Android 13 or later, Settings › Apps › Daylily › Language.
- How do I contact you?
- Write to support+timer@daylily.cc. In the app, tap Contact at the bottom of ≡ at the top left to open your mail app.
